ETHSofia 2024 Hackathon Recap

When we launched the very first ETHSofia Hackathon last year, we knew it would be special. But nothing could have prepared us for just how electrifying the experience would be. In just one weekend, the energy, creativity, and raw talent of the builders who showed up transformed a simple gathering into a full-blown movement in the Web3 space.

And the ripple effects? They're still being felt.

In just three days, everything changed

Over three action-packed days, we welcomed 80+ developers who formed 20 teams on the spot. They pushed the boundaries on what’s possible in Web3. The projects they created ranged from:

• Decentralized AI systems

• Next-gen DeFi tools

• Web3 education platforms

• CRM systems built for onchain communities

• Sustainability solutions for tomorrow’s eco-friendly cities, powered by blockchain

They came with ideas, and left with working products, partnerships, and new career paths.

What made ETHSofia 2024 so special?

We had a full day of workshops featuring ICP, Chainbase, iExec, Zota, Blocksense, Sui, RavenDAO, NEXO, and more!

• Connections Galore: Our hackers networked with industry giants, mentors, and recruiters, sparking collaborations that are still making waves.

• AthleteProof stole the spotlight, clinching a grant from iExec. They’re now building the future of decentralized sports tech, and the crypto world can’t stop talking about them.

• ZKLaurent turned heads and landed a partnership with Blocksense, where they’re now cooking up next-level solutions.

After three intense days of coding and mentoring, the top teams took the ETHSofia conference stage and presented their work in front of hundreds. It was the perfect close to an unforgettable weekend.
